A 10 kg remote-controlled bomb planted near Gul Zaman Mosque, Bannu Miranshah Road, located within the limits of Cantt Police Station, was defused. According to DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi, a large contingent of police immediately reached the spot as soon as the information was received, the area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched, while all necessary steps were taken to ensure the safety of the citizens. He said that the bomb disposal squad safely diffused the remote-controlled IED by demonstrating professionalism and extreme caution. According to initial investigations, the explosives were planted with the nefarious intention of sabotage and disrupting law and order. DPO Bannu said that the protection of lives and property of the public is the top priority of Bannu Police and operations will continue vigorously under the zero tolerance policy against terrorism.
