Pakistan, Afghanistan Peace Agreement A peace agreement has been reached between the elders of Pakistan's Bajaur district and the Afghan province of Kunar. A peace jirga of elders of Bajaur and Afghan province of Kunar at the Pak-Afghan border Nawapas was conducted. The jirga announces a complete ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan No firing will be fired from Bajaur and Mohmand towards Kunar, while there will be no firing from the Afghan province of Kunar either. The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Haji Lali Shah Pakhtun Yar, led from Bajaur, while the tribal elders of Kunar led from the Afghan side. The elders of Kunar will meet every three months to review the agreement. Bajaur side will be led by Haji Lali Shah he also confirmed the peace agreement. Haji Lali Shah Pakhtun Yar, who led Bajaur on behalf of the Islamic Emirates and Afghan leaders, was presented with the Peace Award during the jirga.
