IGP Zulfiqar Hameed has praised the Hangu Police, CTD and security forces for foiling a large number of terrorist attacks. The joint successful operations of Hangu Police, CTD and security forces foiled an attempt by more than 100 terrorists to infiltrate Hangu district. In the clashes that began on Monday, there were reports of heavy losses to the terrorists. The terrorists were trying to enter Zargri, Shawari and Naryab areas of Hangu from the mountains of Orakzai district. The terrorists also tried to lay siege to various border posts, which were foiled by the district police, CTD, FC and Pakistan Army with timely action. During the three-day operation, fierce clashes took place between the terrorists and the police and security forces. In which mortar shells fired by the terrorists also fell on the local population, killing 6 civilians and injuring 13 others. According to the locals, the terrorists suffered heavy losses and fled carrying the bodies of their dead companions and the injured. As the result of the three-day operation, public property, schools and the mountainous area have been cleared. The IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also announced cash rewards and certificates for the soldiers of Hangu Police, CTD, Elite Force and Al-Baraq Force who participated in the operation.
